LCMS Accusers of Pres. Benke Don't Have "New York State of Mind" |

The LCMS accusers of Pres Benke definitely do not have 'a New York state of mind.' Pres Benke acted out of love for a hurting NY. The accusers have no concept of what is going on here or of Benke's reaching out to these people, being Jesus' mouthpiece and sharing God's love and protection for them. Nor, do they know Pres Benke, who was aptly named David, being a man after God's own heart. They should be applauding him, like heaven is. Have they ever heard of the Nehemiah Project? Have they ever risked doing great things for God on faith and prayer like he has? He loves all people. Rather than ministering to God's servant, they put him down and accuse him unjustly (sounds like he's in Jesus' sandals...put down and treated unfairly). But watch and see God lift him up and turn all this negative press into good. That's His specialty! New York is now the melting pot that depicts our whole world. Jesus came so that the world might be saved. How can it be saved if we don't share God's love and let the people know that God is in control, even in devastating situations, and that He cares about them. Do the accusers have any idea of how many people may have thought about their relationship with God at the end of that prayer; or spoke to God in the quiet minutes in the train on the way home, or perhaps when they got home took out a Bible and read it to find out who this Jesus was in whose Name the prayer was offered up? These people desperately needed prayer said for them and what an inspired and beautiful prayer he prayed. Do the accusers have any compassion as Jesus did - did Jesus go among all people and teach of God's love for them? Or, just to his own..."He came unto his own, and his own received him not; but as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God" - Jesus spoke on the hillsides of many villages to all the people, not only in the temples to those of the same beliefs as his. How can they hear if no one tells them? My feeling is that God is going to use Pres Benke in a big way for renewal in America, starting right here in NYC (with or without the approval of his accusers). Pres Benke answers to a Higher Calling than man. What can mere man do to him? If God is for him, who can be against him? Even if the LCMS defrocks him, God will use him. You see, God is bigger than all these accusations, and he will see to it that his cause and his Word will not return to him void. All this nonsense, God will use it all for good for 'if God is for NY, who can be against her?' He sent his Son as the atonement for our sins, and not just ours only, but for everyone's. God will honor Pres Benke's obedience. God will honor Pres Benke's prayer, in fact He already has and we in NYC thank Him for answering that prayer. That should be proof enough, don't you think? Keep watching and see the great things God has planned for America. Be on the alert and watch and pray. Thank you for listening. I'm praying that as the prayers go up on Pres Benke's behalf, the Holy Spirit will come down in even greater measure and power and use Pres Benke and his obedience to God's voice to move in a contagious way among God's people, that we continue to share His love and the good news of Jesus with all His children, red and yellow, black and white, and that many will be brought to saving faith in Jesus. I pray that He will give to Pres Benke wisdom from above and love in his heart to deal with his accusers. IN JESUS' NAME. Let it be so! Kay Charon, Glen Cove, NY
