First of all, I voted. I voted in support of Dr. Schulz's decision. It is the historic Christian and Lutheran position, period.

That being said, let me add this word of encouragement. I can find no reason for you conducting such a poll on the internet. Theological issues are to be decide by the Word of God not straw polls. Whatever the results of your poll is, they are contrary to the spirit the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod where matters are to be settled by the Word of God alone and not how many one position got over and against another position.

Secondly, you state that this site is privately owned - that is fine - everyone has a right to elect to develop a site. However, in view of the the recent announcement that Rev. Behnke has employed a PR firm to carry his message to the public I think that you should also inform those who access this site that you are not in the employ of Rev. Behnke, his PR firm, or in any other manner identified with his position. You seem to take a position of impartiality - please assure your readers that this position of impartiality is more than words by revealing exactly who you are.

In X's service,

Rev. Dr. Micheal M. Strong

First I would like to state, for the record, that Lutheran Central nor any of its employees have been contacted by any PR firm from either side of the current controversy. I would also like to assure all of our readers that if we would be contacted by such a PR firm, we would not respond to such an overture.

Lutheran Central is a privately owned and independent web site, we have no direct affiliations with any church body or synod. We wish to produce a web site "for Lutherans, by Lutherans" - and we mean for all Lutherans world wide to be able to use the resources on our web site. To see the page that we have had since we opened this site, please click here .

Our foremost purpose is to organize a Lutheran web directory. We also wish to connect Lutherans on the web, especially during turbulent times in the Lutheran world such as this one.

We do our best to "run a clean ship" and report objectively from both sides of this current fray, and have no intention of trying to railroad one opinion or the other. We wish for our site to be one of the few places that can truly be called a "marketplace of ideas" where the children of God are encouraged to join together in fellowship and debate.

The names of our employees remain confidential for two reasons: a.) Due to the professional aspirations of some of our employees we feel that it would be a disservice to them to be "black balled" as working for a pan-Lutheran, independently owned web site. One must have the honesty to admit that there are certain elements in any Lutheran church who would frown upon such a venture. b.) In order to use the LutheranCentral.com site, one does not need to know who makes the page, who knows HTML, and who copies and publishes your emailed responses. We are happy to be the middle man, and we are here to serve you.

In Christ, our Lord,

Jay @ Lutheran Central
